I recently completed 10 Years working for Royal Philips, which gave me pause to reflect on some fantastic experiences and shared achievements during this time. However, despite the many sources of pride that I have as a Team Member at Philips, one of the most engaging is the Philips Excellence Competition (PEC).
Whilst there are many companies that celebrate the success of their Business Excellence initiatives, Philips must surely be one of an elite club of Organisations who, on an annual basis, invest in a Global Celebration of their Team Members' achievements. We call this the Philips Excellence Competition and it is open to all of our 100K+ employees across the globe.
This commitment of the Senior Leadership is essential to the success of a Program such as this and we are fortunate in Philips that we have maintained this commitment for many years and, in the last few years, have seen a redoubling of the focus.
Business Excellence is a Vision that many Organisations strive for and an Excellence Competition is, in my opinion, a Critical Success Factor in its attainment. However, in Philips, we have the unique pride of the Philips Excellence Competition, something that is unique and special to us all.
There are many Lean Leadership Books out there but I have reviewed those that I think are of most use on my Book Recommendations page.
